Handshake Direct Mobile is a seamless order writing platform that gives you access to your supplier product catalog. Handshake Direct Mobile is available for iOS and Android Devices.
*Please Note*
Determining which device is best for you should be discussed with you and your supplier, but we recommend using devices manufactured in 2016 or later with at least Android version 7.0 and 2GB of RAM.
Your supplier will work with you in providing log-in credentials which will include a specified email address and password. If you have a device, but have yet to download Handshake Direct Mobile on to your device, you can access it from the app store by clicking here directly from your mobile device, or searching the app store on your device for Handshake. The app icon looks like this:
Once downloaded, launch the application, type in your email and password credentials, and tap Login at the bottom of the page:
Once successfully logged in, the latest catalog data will immediately start downloading to your device. You'll want to make sure your device has a strong Wi-Fi or cellular data connection to allow this download to complete:
After the sync has completed successfully, you are all set to start placing orders from your suppliers catalog.
Depending on how your supplier’s catalog is set up, they may offer products across different manufacturers and categories. You can use the search bar to search across all available products. You can search across product names, SKUs, and descriptions.
You can also tap on the Browse Catalog button on the menu to look at individual manufacturers or categories.
After finding the products you are looking for, add them to your cart on the right side of the screen:
You can also tap on an individual product to learn more about it. You can see pictures, descriptions and other product information:
On this page, you can also tap the heart icon to mark an item as a “favorite”. You can view all your favorites at any time by clicking the favorite button on the menu. Here, you can quickly build orders of items you know you will order frequently.
Handshake Direct Mobile also supports barcode scanning when searching for products or building an order. This is a really efficient way to write up an order as you are browsing your existing inventory and have the product barcode readily available. Scanning barcodes can be done by either using the devices built in camera, or by pairing a bluetooth enabled barcode scanner. Information on supported bluetooth scanners can be found here. To start the barcode scanning feature, tap on the icon that looks like a barcode and then choose the camera or bluetooth option. Tap the screen when you are ready to start scanning and add the items to the cart once you are done:
Instead of building a list first, you can also add products directly to your cart by using the barcode scanning button inside the cart in the lower right hand corner.
Once you're done adding products, you can review your cart by tapping on the Cart on the bottom center of the screen. Here, you can make any final adjustments before completing your order:
Once you've reviewed your cart and are ready to submit your order, tap on the Checkout button at the bottom of the screen. Ensure all required fields are filled out, making sure to scroll down on this page to see all available fields. Once all fields are filled out, tap the bar on the bottom of the page that says Submit Order:
At any time, you can view your list of open and completed orders to check their status. On the navigation menu, locate the link to view Orders and tap it:
You can tap on any order to see specific details about it. You can also use past orders as a template for new ones by tapping the button that says “Tap to Reorder”.
