Catalog Visibility Controls give you the ability to determine the products that are available for reps to sell, and customers to buy. These controls are managed by your company admin via Handshake on the web and will directly impact the display of products in the Handshake Mobile app and Handshake Direct.
There are 3 different types of catalog visibility controls available in Handshake. Lets take a brief look at them, and then dive in to further detail on how to use them.
Inactive Products
Inactive products allows you to hide specific products or entire products categories from all customers, or all customers and reps. Use cases included archiving discontinued products without deleting them from your catalog, adding new products in preparation for a season release, or if you have displays and other sales/marketing assets that can be ordered by a rep when visiting a specific location but not visible for the customer.

Blacklisting
Product blacklisting allows you to take a subset of products or product categories and make them unavailable to one or more customer groups. This is ideal if you are creating region specific catalogs or other scenarios that would call for category specific customer purchasing.

Whitelisting
Product whitelisting allows you to take a subset of products or product categories and make them available to one or more customer groups. This is ideal if throughout your entire catalog there are products that are only purchased by one or two customer groups or if there are slight variations in prices for your customers.
