Handshake supports the ability to create a dropship order across the Handshake platform. By adding the option to dropship orders, sales reps and customers can add a shipping address for the order that won’t be permanently saved on the customer’s record.
To turn on Dropship support
- Log into the Handshake Hub website as an admin.
- Click on the Setup tab and select “Account Settings.”
- Underneath the Orders tab, click to turn on the toggle for dropship support.
- Click "Save."
- Once you have completed these steps, your reps will need to sync their mobile devices to use dropship support for Handshake Rep and your customers will need to do the same to enable dropship support on Handshake Direct Mobile.
To ship an order to a dropship address on Handshake Rep
- Write an order as you normally would. On the Options tab, tap the plus button to add a new ship-to address.
- Enter the address. At the bottom of the address entry form, you will now see the option to select “Dropship Address” under “Use Default Ship-To.”
- Mark the address as a Dropship by tapping on “Dropship Address.” You will know the address has been marked as a Dropship when the orange checkmark appears after you tap. Make sure “Use Default Ship To” is not also selected.
- Close out the address and proceed to Finishing Up to complete the order. The address will not be saved to the customer’s record in Handshake, but the order will maintain the one time ship-to address entered.
To enable Dropship for Handshake Direct Online
- Log into the Handshake Hub website as an admin.
- Click on the Setup tab and select “Handshake Direct.”
- Under the Order Settings tab, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the toggle to turn on "Dropship support" under the Checkout heading.
- Click "Save Changes"
Writing an order on Handshake Direct Online when address editing is enabled
- On the checkout screen, the customer selects “Add New” from the shipping address dropdown menu.
- The customer then enters the desired shipping address for the order on the “New Address” screen that pops up. At the bottom of the screen, check the box next to “Dropship address.”
- The customer should then click "Save."
The address will not be saved to the customer’s record in Handshake, but the order will maintain the one time ship-to address entered. Dropship addresses will be indicated on the order detail view by the term “Dropship” appearing above the customer’s ship to address.
Writing an order on Handshake Direct Online when address editing is disabled.
If you have the “Disable Address Editing” option selected, the process is nearly identical, except instead of selecting “New Address” on the order checkout screen, the customer will be limited to selecting between an existing company address or adding a new "Dropship address."
When the Dropship address option is selected the “Dropship Address” screen will appear. The customer then enters in the dropship address for the order and hits save.
The address will not be saved to the customer’s record, but the order will maintain the one time ship-to address entered.
