Overview: Scheduled Order Export allows you to pull orders from Handshake to a shared folder (Dropbox, Box, Google Drive) on a schedule. This will be useful if you need to pull order data into your backend system (WMS, ERP, etc) in order to process and ship orders.
Scheduled Order Exports can be configured in Setup > Scheduled Order Export.
Setup
First, you’ll choose an export type: Orders CSV, Order Headers CSV, Orders PDF. The Orders CSV and Orders PDF will export one file per order.
Then, decide which orders should be exported based on status. You may only want to export confirmed orders in order to prevent draft orders from being fulfilled, for example.
You’ll also pick a post-export status to ensure the order is correctly reflected in Handshake. The most common configuration here is for Confirmed orders to be exported and the post-export status to become Processing.
Schedule
Establish an export cadence. The most common configuration is to export orders hourly on business days, but you can set it to whatever you'd like. You can select a cutoff date if you want to only import orders newer than a particular date.
Destination
We use a service called Filepicker to connect to Dropbox, Box, and Google Drive. Select the proper destination for your company and determine a naming convention for the exported files.
Once you turn "Export Enabled" on, your Scheduled Order Export will begin running on the cadence you’ve determined.
