Authorizing and inviting customers to use Handshake Direct Mobile from Handshake Hub is now a straightforward, self-service experience.
Instead of going to the “Users” page in your account settings on Handshake Hub, you navigate to the “Customers” page. Please note that customers that already have Handshake Direct Mobile access will continue to be authorized. However, all placeholder accounts that were setup on the “Users” page will no longer provide access to your Handshake Direct Mobile instance.
From the “Customers” page, you have the choice of inviting multiple customers at once or just a single customer.
Inviting Multiple Customers
To invite multiple customers to Handshake Direct Mobile at once start by clicking the check box next to the customers that you would like to provide access. Once you have chosen all the customers that you would like to invite, click on the “Bulk Actions” drop down tab and choose “Invite to Handshake Direct.” This will automatically authorize and send an invitation email to the primary email for all of the customers that you selected to start buying from you on their mobile device.
Inviting a Single Customer
From the “Customers” page click on the name of the customer you would like to add to go to their “Customer Detail” page. Once on the page, click the “Enable Access to Handshake Direct” button and a popup window will appear for you to enter the email of the buyer you want to invite. Once you click “Send” that customer will be authorized and receive their email invitation.
Managing Buyer Access
Additional buyers can be added by clicking on “Send Invite” in the “Handshake Direct Access” section of the “Customer Detail Page.” Clicking “Send Invite” will open a popup window for you to provide the email of the new buyer you would like to add for the customer. In addition, from the “Handshake Direct Access” section you can also revoke access for certain buyers or disable access for the customer entirely.
The “Owning User Group” field on the “Customer Detail Page” gives you visibility and control over who has access to the customer’s Handshake Direct Mobile instance, including both your employees as well as the customer’s buyers. Once a buyer for a customer has accepted their invitation and created their account they will be added to the “Owning User Group” field and will be designated by “Buyer:” before their name.
